Checked again to make sure no RAW adjustment was dialed in and it was all set to zero. When processed the file as DNG and opened in Photoshop I was horrified to see it looked way too bright, not at all like preview. Changed the menu to include noise reduction ( auto values) and it now noise adjusted the background and only sharpened the subject ! This time no nasty sharpen of the oof areas or the white car ( woo hoo ) Unlike v7 where the raw conversion was horrid in terms of colour and saturation, this preview looked much better… sadly that is where the good news ends. Then processed for screen using auto, and noticed that the noise adjustment was limited to the selected area and not background. Noticed onscreen that the selection of the car ( the Porsche shot) was not 100%, would like to brush adjust. Opened as standalone and was pleased to see the RAW adjustment menu. Should have remembered earlier, that temporarily disabling the graphics processor can solve a lot of issues.Downloaded fine and installed OK.
The JPGS are 0.16 the size of the raw files so sure don't mind having those in my folders.Īnyway. process that are 5.5 times the size of the RAW files.
File/Plug in extras/Process in Topaz Photo Ai was working in the meantime so had some files to compare, and I can't really see any difference between using that or just right click/edit in/Topaz Photo Ai/Jpeg/300dpi, and I sure don't want DNG's from that File/. The routine Topaz suggested for raw files. So, I re-enabled it and now it works fine again and all plugins are working normally. Without the graphics processor however, images open and resolve much slower moving from image to image in LR. I was waiting for a resolution suggestion from Topaz, but all I got was an email saying it could take 8 days for a real response.įinally disabled the graphics processor in LR, restarted LR and then everything worked fine again. for sure it isn't a memory issue as I have 64g of Ram and have no problem sending 25 images to PS to batch edit, with several other programs running concurrently. immediately freezes LRC even before it gets to where you select the resolution desired. Trying right click/edit in/Topaz Photo Ai. has made that the only Topaz plug-in that now works from within Lightroom Classic. Actually I just tried to send a photo to Topaz Gigapixel Ai, and that totally crashed Lightroom Classic as well! So it appears that using "File/Plug-in Extras/Process with Topaz Photo Ai" that one time.

My Lightroom Classic is Version 12.1 and I am on Windows 10 Ver 21H2 (OS Build 1904.2364). and so now I can't even send ONE image to Topaz Photo Ai from Lightroom in the normal manner without Lightroom crashing. I restarted LR several times and the same thing keeps happening. THAT FROZE LIGHTROOM CLASSIC COMPLETELY and the only way to shut it down is to go through Task Manager. some that were less critical but could use an overall enhancement. Next I tried sending several images to Photo Ai at once. I edited one that way after editing it as a JPG the way I normally do (right click, edit in Topaz Photo Ai, select JPG at 300 dpi) and found the JPG looked a lot better than the DNG file that the 'Raw' process generated. It started after I tried editing a raw file, following the instructions that come up when one is opened in Photo Ai suggesting one use the "File/Plug-in Extras/Process with Topaz Photo Ai" method. I've been using Photo Ai, but in the past hour, the plugin has stopped working properly from within Lightroom.
